Palmetto Fastpitch League (PFL) is proud to announce our Second Annual Fall Developmental League. We are a weekday fall league in the Tri-County (Charleston, Berkeley, Dorchester) area during September through November. We base our model on the Diamond Prospect Fall Baseball league. The leagues will provide a local and affordable option for up-and-coming talent, plus established softball players looking to get in some extra work during the school week. Games will only be Monday-Wednesday so as not to interfere with travel ball. We have established our Tricounty League and it is a go. We would love to add to our list of teams (James Island, Oceanside, Lucy Beckham and Wando). If your school is in the Tricounty area and would like to participate in 2025 please see below instructions. If you are outside the Tricounty area and would like to be a commissioner (compensation provided) please do the same.
Coach’s that would like to participate must contact your commissioner ASAP. Please confirm if you would like your field to be a host site and what color jersey(s) for each team.

Because we are an outside group, HS coaches have access to their players throughout the entirety of the league to practice, etc. SCHSL returning rules are in play. Below are the rules outlined by SCHSL regarding Outside Competition.
PER SCHSL RULES AND REGULATIONS
Out of Season (Competition Rules)
During the out of season period, no school shall allow competition(s) that involve(s) the coach(es) and/or players except:
**Games will be played on weekday nights only – no weekends. The aim is to shoot for Monday - Wednesday with makeup games on Thursday. (rainouts and field availability will determine much of our schedule).**
**Opening week will be no earlier than September 1 and the league will run for 8 weeks with teams playing once a week, perhaps twice. The last week of the regular season will end in the first week of November, possibly the 2nd week in November…that really depends on field availability and weather, as always.**
**Teams will play a minimum of 7 games, however the goal is 8 games. The exact number depends on the eventual number of clubs in a given league, available sites, plus weather.**
**Teams are allowed to have players from multiple high schools**
**Some High Schools may be required to have 2 or more teams depending on how many returning Varsity players and total players sign up for your team. Please be prepared to have multiple teams.**

Keep the games moving: catching up pitchers, hustling on/off the field, limiting time on mound visits, arguing calls, etc. The purpose of this league is letting players play as much softball as possible for their development.
